Workwear Petite Dresses for Women

When it comes to selecting workwear dresses for petite women, there are certain guidelines to keep in mind to ensure a polished and professional look. Here’s a breakdown of what you should and should not wear:

  1. Tailored Sheath Dresses: Opt for fitted sheath dresses that accentuate your curves without overwhelming your frame. Look for styles with strategic seam placements to create the illusion of length.
  2. Wrap Dresses: Wrap dresses are universally flattering and can be adjusted to fit your body perfectly. Choose ones with a defined waistline to create shape and elongate your silhouette.
  3. A-Line Dresses: A-line dresses gently flare out from the waist, creating a balanced silhouette for petite frames. Look for styles that hit above the knee to avoid overwhelming your height.
  4. Vertical Stripes or Patterns: Vertical stripes or patterns can visually elongate your body, making you appear taller. Opt for dresses with vertical details to add height to your frame.
  5. Monochromatic Outfits: Dressing in one color from head to toe creates a streamlined look that elongates the body. Experiment with monochromatic dresses paired with matching shoes for an effortlessly chic ensemble.
  1. Maxi Dresses: Avoid maxi dresses that overwhelm your petite frame and drag on the floor. Opt for shorter hemlines that hit above the knee to create the illusion of longer legs.
  2. Overly Busy Prints: Steer clear of dresses with large, busy prints that can overpower your small stature. Instead, opt for subtle patterns or solid colors that won’t distract from your overall look.
  3. Bulky Fabrics: Avoid dresses made from bulky fabrics that add unnecessary bulk to your frame. Opt for lightweight materials that drape beautifully and create a sleek silhouette.
  4. Ill-Fitting Dresses: Say no to dresses that are too loose or too tight. Proper fit is key for petite women, so make sure to tailor your dresses to fit your body perfectly.
  5. Empire Waist Dresses: Empire waist dresses can sometimes make petite women appear shorter by emphasizing the bust and shortening the torso. Opt for dresses with defined waistlines to create a more proportionate silhouette.

Petite Workwear Trousers

When it comes to selecting workwear trousers for petite women, it’s essential to choose styles that flatter your frame and enhance your professional appearance. Here’s a guide to help you navigate what you should and should not wear:

  1. Tailored Slim-Fit Trousers: Opt for slim-fit trousers that are tailored to your body shape. These trousers hug your curves without overwhelming your petite frame, creating a sleek and polished look.
  2. High-Waisted Styles: High-waisted trousers elongate the legs and create the illusion of height. Look for styles with a high rise that cinch at the waist, helping to define your silhouette.
  3. Straight-Leg Trousers: Straight-leg trousers offer a timeless silhouette that works well for petite frames. Look for styles that skim the thighs and fall straight from the knee to the hem for a flattering fit.
  1. Baggy or Oversized Styles: Avoid trousers that are too baggy or oversized as they can overwhelm your petite frame and look sloppy. Opt for tailored styles that fit close to the body without being too tight.
  2. Wide-Leg Trousers: While wide-leg trousers are on-trend, they can often shorten the appearance of the legs, especially for petite women. If you do choose to wear wide-leg trousers, make sure they are tailored to fit your proportions perfectly.
  3. Low-Rise Styles: Low-rise trousers can visually shorten the torso and make you appear shorter overall. Instead, opt for mid-rise or high-rise styles that sit at or above the natural waistline for a more flattering look.

Petite Workwear Jumpsuit

When it comes to petite workwear jumpsuits, choosing the right style can make all the difference in achieving a polished and professional look. Here are some tips on what petite women should and should not wear when it comes to jumpsuits for the workplace:

  1. Tailored Silhouettes: Opt for jumpsuits with tailored silhouettes that cinch at the waist and skim the body without overwhelming your frame. Look for styles with strategic seam placements and waist-defining details to create a flattering fit.
  2. V-Neck or Wrap Styles: V-neck or wrap-style jumpsuits elongate the neckline and create the illusion of length, making them perfect for petite women. These styles draw the eye upward and can help to balance out proportions.
  3. Vertical Stripes or Patterns: Vertical stripes or patterns can visually elongate the body, making you appear taller. Look for jumpsuits with vertical detailing to add height to your frame and create a sleek and elongated silhouette.
  1. Excessive Detailing: Steer clear of jumpsuits with excessive detailing such as bulky pockets, embellishments, or bold patterns that can overwhelm your petite frame. Opt for clean, streamlined styles that create a sleek and polished silhouette.
  2. Low-Cut Necklines: While plunging necklines can be flattering, overly low-cut styles can sometimes overwhelm petite frames. Choose jumpsuits with modest yet stylish necklines that complement your proportions without revealing too much.
  3. Floor-Length Styles: Jumpsuits that bunch up at the ankles or drag on the floor can make you appear shorter. Make sure to hem your jumpsuits to the appropriate length or choose cropped styles that hit above the ankle for a more tailored look.

  3. My wedding dress turned out exactly as I had envisioned. The process was smooth and easy. Nathalie was quick to respond and during the fitting process she was excellent at prompting me for answers about things I hadn’t thought of such as arm movement, specific spots I should double check, etc. The only change I would make is to indicate that prices are in USD.

  4. I feared this to be the most stressful part of planning our wedding, but the team at Dressarte made it an enjoyable, confidence boosting and easy endeavour. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating, and gave brilliant options for both budget and style. The dressmaker they paired with with has incredible talent, and turned my vision into a work of art. Thank you all so much!

  5. Extremely fun process that yielded a perfect dress. I was super picky and the team sent me many rounds of fabric options until I was happy. The dress itself was super well made and everyone at my wedding was blown away by it. I would 100% use Dressarte for special events again in the future.
